Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Boston reviews
Still the Boss!
Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band's 8/30/16 MetLife show was the greatest concert I've ever attended. With a setlist plucked from my wildest dreams, energy and enthusiasm to rival any other performer young or old, and a lifelong dedication to give his audiences everything he's got, Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band and the band took us to rock 'n' roll heaven for a record breaking 4 hours, 1 minute. I've been to my fair share of concerts over the last 30 years. I've seen Bob Dylan sixty times.
He delivered. He let us know from the start that this would be a different show. Even before that, I knew it would be special. I arrived at the venue with my sister @ 4:15 to hear Incident On 57th Street in soundcheck. We got to hear eight songs from our position in the parking lot, including Incident, Kitty's Back, Secret Garden, and Blinded By the Light. And I saw that he played that song, Better Days, in DC. I thought that if we heard half of those it'd be a great show. Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band played all but one.
As if hearing Incident wasn't satisfying enough, hearing it segue into Rosalita like on the album was epic. And that was only ten songs into the night. I won't bore anyone with a play by play, but if you check out the setlist, you can imagine some of the high points. I got to hear so many favorites and a few seldom played tracks, culminating with the song that should be our state's anthem, Jersey Girl.
If anyone could, it would be Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band. I can't imagine even Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band topping this show, but when he comes back around I'll be there to see if he does. That's why he still is and will always be the Boss.
